* IN RECENT weeks you reported the council was in a £652,000 'black hole', then that a further £153,000 may be pumped into the PRSA – and that the Audit Commission report the council having a 'poor, no-star service that has uncertain prospects for improvement' in relation to sport and facilities.
It doesn't take a lot of working out that few, if any, on the present council have any idea of what they are doing so it would appear that those 'cynics' who were critical of their election last year have been proved right.

How can anyone, knowing
that a 'black hole' exists, vote to put more money into the PRSA?
If the council knew this audit report was imminent, why not wait until its findings were known instead of agreeing to put money into the PRSA they day before the report was published?

It is reported that some £6m has been pumped into this venture to keep it going so it begs the plain question – WHY?

Many businesses in the town would love to be on the same footing as the PRSA; you know, get in debt and the council will bail you out regardless. That £6m would solve all the council's present problems, would it not?

And you further report that a further £2m is due in unpaid council tax. Do the council not send any warning letters out now, or are things just left to go merrily along with no action?

Further, could someone from the council please explain why the Peter Paine complex and the Tennis Club – which apparently are both thriving – should suddenly become part of the strategic sports strategy (whatever that means) when those organisations obviously are not interested.

The Bypass Party was elected on the premise that they would get something done about the traffic in Boston: they caved in to the county council at the first opportunity and in doing so have ruined the look of the Market Place. The Bypass Party also indicated they would do 'something' about the PRSA: nuff said!

It would appear that last year at the election it wasn't a case of out with the old, in with the new but more a case of out with the old, in with the old (and to some extent worse).

They should resign, refund all the expenses and allowances they have received for their 'services', and let the people of Boston decide whether they have done a good job or not.
