Tuesday, 11am - LEGENDARY sports commentator John Motson is coming to Boston.

The Boston United fan, with family connections to Swineshead, is returning to the town to speak at Boston Stump's annual Dinner in the Nave.

Vicar of Boston, the Rev Robin Whitehead, said: "We are delighted that John Motson has agreed to come and speak at the dinner and we are looking forward to a memorable evening.

"These dinners are fast becoming a major event in both the church's and the town's calendar and their popularity increases every year. They also provide invaluable income which enables us to continue to repair the fabric and develop the facilities for the benefit of all."

The dinner on October 8 will be the third to be held in aid of the Restoration and Development Appeal. So far they have raised more than £6,000 towards the repair and development of the church, which celebrates its 700th anniversary next year.

Tickets cost £30 per person for a four-course meal and wine.
There will also be a raffle.

Tickets are limited and can be purchased from the appeal office or by contacting Peter Coleman, tel 07887943125.
