Wednesday 1pm - PEDAL power between John O'Groats to Land's End has helped one woman to raise more than £11,000 for charity.
But the 876-mile trip was not enough for Jenny Davies, who is a construction services manager with Boston housing association Longhurst Group.

She decided to take the scenic route, which added a further 50 miles to the journey – which was unlike most of her flat training ground in Lincolnshire.

Mrs Davis was joined by her friends from sixth form, Steven Ball and Damian Kirk, and her husband David Gathercole, who came up with the idea to raise funds for Cancer Research as part of his 50th birthday celebrations.

"The support has been tremendous. I'm delighted we have managed to raise over £11,000 so far and the sponsorship money is still coming in," she added.
