Friday, 10.30am - MELANIE Marshall has announced her retirement from the pool.
The 26-year-old has decided to end her glittering swimming career after 10 years of success.

Melanie – who was awarded the freedom of the borough of Boston after becoming the most decorated English woman at an individual Commonwealth Games, winning six medals – will now take up the role of head coach at the City of Derby Swimming Club.

"After Beijing I came to a point where I realised I'd given everything to being a swimmer and I simply couldn't give any more," said the Wrangle swimmer.
